• EDGAR Database provides documents electronically filed with the SEC (Securities & Exchange Commission) which can be used to find salaries, stockholdings, and business histories of top executives and directors. David Lamb’s Research Page (see below) has good tips on how to search the database.
  
• Hoovers has directory information on thousands of public and the larger private companies, including links to other resources. Detailed profiles are only available to subscribers, but the site includes many free resources.
  
• Forbes has lists of top 500 companies, richest Americans, etc.
  
• Yahoo! Finance contains many useful links to information on public companies, including company profiles, finances, stock charts and news clippings.
